Planned, designed, and painted with at-risk youth at Family Youth Interventions, based in Mt.Clemens, Michigan. The mural was created with the intent to show identity, inclusion, and belonging. Two different skin tones are shown in the hands responsible for holding the earth. Responsible for comforting and nurturing it.

Meant to be maintained as an interactive mural, as youth complete programs with the professionals of FYI they are to paint their own hands and paste them in the shape of a butterfly upon the mural. This is a send off to their time there. but a promise to truly take on the future and contribute to this overarching goal. The goal of longevity, and the goal of making this planet a true home for all. The butterfly is meant to be a symbol of growth, rebirth, and beauty.
